Lac La Biche ...

We have done it!!!      We're now higher than Edmonton prices have EVER been for gasoline.

Edmonton's highest EVER historical price for a litre of fuel was 11 years ago at $1.35.9.

Lac La Biche new Beaverhill SHELL station,  in just a few short months of operation,  has surpassed that historical high mark by a penny, putting their pump price up today to $1.36.9
Average Edmonton price today ... $1.22.9
City of Champions?  HA !  We've got you beat.
Other comparisons ... Banff — a tourism destination like the lakes and back-country of Lac La Biche County was at $131.9 today.
Fort McMurray ... was higher than LLB at $1.37.9. Surprise!
Medicine Hat, the closest large southern community to the Sask border was at $125.6. Speaking of Saskatchewan ... Moose Jaw was selling fuel at $1.27.6 today.
Smoky Lake — a small rural community like Lac La Biche, that's on a main highway like Lac La Biche, that's an "on-the-way-to" kind of town like Lac La Biche  ... was  most recently selling fuel for $1.25.4 at its SHELL station.

Strange fact: The Shell on Main Street in Lac La Biche (about 1.3 km away from Beaverhill Shell) is still at $1.34.9 ... just like the rest of the main street gas stations.  Man, they're clearly not preparing for long weekend travel plans.
Fun Fact: We actually used the Pythagorean Theory to determine their distance apart — So ...  perhaps we will someday use that stuff :)      #STAY IN SCHOOL   #MathIsCool   #PythagIsBoss

Comment?

We put this little blurb on local pricing in our 'Comment' section because we want you to.
We'd also like to extend our invitation to local gas retailers to explain to us why our prices are so much higher.  C'mon guys -- if we can reference Ol' Pythagorus and work his math wonders for this column, we should be able to understand rack pricing and the principles of supply and demand.
Let us in on your record-breaking secret.
