Lac La Biche and area police want the public to be on the lookout for a truck believed to have been involved in a shooting incident on Wednesday morning near the Missiwawi Lake area. Lac La Biche RCMP are also urging the public to stay away from the vehicle or its occupants if it is spotted.

Police say a Lac La Biche resident who followed the truck from his property to a neighbour's yard and then back onto a rural roadway at 10 kilometres west of the Lac La Biche hamlet was shot at by one of the truck's occupants.

Fired at while following

Police report that the resident saw the truck, a newer model Dodge crew cab truck with a flat deck cargo area, pull into his yard at around 10 am on Nov. 7, so he  came out to confront the driver.   The truck sped out of the yard — and the resident decided to follow in his own vehicle. After a short pursuit through the area, police say a firearm was pointed out of the back window of the suspect truck and two shots were fired. One of the rounds struck the following vehicle.

Police were called, and despite the resources of several police vehicles and the assistance of the Boyle RCMP, the truck was not located. It is believe there were three occupants in the vehicle, two men and one woman.

1-800-222-TIPS

Police  are continuing to investigate the incident and are again warning community members not to approach the vehicle if it is spotted. They say the truck is believed to be the same one involved with several reports of suspicious vehicle activity in the area over the last few days.
