On behalf of the provincial government, area MLA Dave Hanson was in the area last week to hand out some grant money funding to the Rich Lake Recreation and Agriculture Society.

Hanson stopped in at the new Rich Lake hall to offer society members Jeanette Pomerleau, Rob Lawson and Don Kossey a Community Facility Enhancement Program cheque for $125,000.

The money will go towards the continuing refurbishment of the Rich Lake community centre.

According to the government's website, the last CFEP grant to the Rich Lake area was in 2003 when the community's Golden Age Pioneer Society  received $3,000 for hall renovations.
