Cold Lake, Alta – On March 10, 2019 Cold Lake RCMP with the assistance of Police Dog Services located and arrested 5 individuals following a police pursuit in the area of Cold Lake, Alberta. The police pursuit ensued after the Cold Lake RCMP responded to shots fired at a vehicle with two occupants inside on Range Road 420 just outside of Cold Lake. The suspects then fled in a stolen truck which was immediately located by the Cold Lake RCMP. A police pursuit ensued and the suspects fled on foot when their vehicle became stuck. All occupants were shortly located and arrested by the Cold Lake RCMP and the Police Dog Services unit. Upon searching the area, the Cold Lake RCMP located a SKS firearm. No one was harmed during the incident.
Tealyn Marten, a 19-year old man from Cold Lake, Cody Spence, a 20-year old man from Cold Lake, Vanessa Gabriel, a 19-year old female from Cold Lake, Peter Hamelin, a 34-year old man from Lac La Biche and Shane Weekley, a 24-year old man from Redwater were arrested and charged with:
Discharge firearm with intent
Pointing firearm
Careless use of a firearm
Flight from police
Possession of firearm/ammunition in a motor vehicle
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5000 (x2)
Unauthorized possession of firearm
All accused are remanded into custody and will appear in Cold Lake Court on Wednesday March 13th, 2019.
