Hunting season is here, and lot of the outdoor enthusiasts are looking for supplies and ideas.
That is why, Hunt Mania — a Daysland-based group of exhibitors — along with local vendors — dealing in a variety of outdoor goods — are bringing their 2019 Gun and Sportsman Show to the Bold Center in Lac La Biche this weekend. The well-established show has taken place in a number of locations around Alberta. This is the second year the event has been held in Lac La Biche.
"We have done shows in Fort McMurray, Grand Prairie, Slave Lake. We just finished one in Sherwood Park. We have done one in Spruce Grove and we have done Rocky Mountain House," said organizer Randy Schlender.
There will be a variety of different outdoor goods to choose from at the three-day exhibition.
"You are going to see a lot of outdoor exhibitions. You are going to see army surplus... There will be things like backpacks, clothing, tents, camping gear and other hunting equipment... There will be around half a dozen firearms dealers there. To name a couple, Wolverine Guns & Tackle will be there, and one of the gun dealers from Grande Prairie. There will be some ATV dealers there as well," Schlender said.
That's not all. Hunt Mania will also exhibit some specialty products as well. The Action Track Chair — an off-roading wheelchair especially designed for outdoors enthusiasts with mobility issue due to a disability — is a new addition to this year's unique lineup.
Schlender said the show is a good chance to walk around, talk to merchants and find out more about outdoor recreation. The show isn't just for hunters and shooters, he said.
"I would encourage everyone to come out and check out the show. There is a lot of things you don't normally see... You can find a lot of items of interest," Schlender said.

Hunt Mania Gun and Sportsman Show is scheduled for September 20-22 at the Bold Center field house. The hours are 4pm - 9pm on Friday, 10am - 6pm on Saturday, and 10am - 4pm on Sunday.
Chamber of Commerce Trade Show
The Hunt Mania event is being held in conjunction with the the Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce annual Trade Show, with booths open to vendors of local small businesses, traders, crafters, home-based businesses, bakers and cooks, service groups and non-profit organizations.
The Chamber's Trade Show will also be in the Bold Center.
All chamber members and non-members are invited to set up their booth at the Trade Show for a price of only $75 for all three days.
