Do you have a local ghost tale?

Spooky — but not necessarily scary.  That's the idea behind the Lac La Biche Museum's latest family-friendly display that's just in time for Halloween. And they're looking to scare up some interest from local residents.

Ghost stories, things that go bump in the night, local spooky tales — and perhaps a few tall tales — are all welcome additions in what the museum's director describes as an exhibit that can grow as more stories come in. The skeleton of the display is being put together in the next few days, and is hoped to grow and expand as it haunts the museum for the next month.

Like a Frankenstein monster being slowly created in the lab, museum staff will stitch together local  stories and tales as they come in.

"We hope that community members come to us with their own stories, ghost stories, spooky tales ... We hope that Halloween coming up gets people talking about some local ghost stories," said Jennifer Mueller.

The museum staff have already heard ghost tales from Plamondon, the Lac La Biche Mission, McArthur Place and other areas ... but they'd love to 'boo-st' their inventory of stories.

"If people have heard about something or know of a place where strange things have happened, let us know," said Mueller.

The display will also feature photos that visitors can look over to see if they notice anything 'unusual'.

The first-time exhibit is a way to draw people to the downtown museum, "and to have a little Halloween fun," says Mueller, adding that she hopes residents share their stories to help others learn more about the history of the area.

Anyone with spooky tales, ghost stories, photos ... or proof that they themselves may be a zombie ... can contact  museum staff through their website at https://laclabichemuseum.com/
