Walking along the upstairs hallway at Lac La Biche's LacAlta lodge, Leah Plamondon's suite is easy to spot.   Decorations line the hallway walls leading to her door, and there's more Christmas spirit hanging there too.

Plamondon's decorative work  shines brightly — even in a building where Christmas lights are strung and decorations dangle as families visit to celebrate the holidays. Her Christmas spirit and the decorations are a labour of love that she carried out for more than 50 years. It's a passion she shared with her late husband.

"I still feel that same Christmas spirit and its always nice to have decorations," said Plamondon last week as the days roll towards Christmas Day and into the new year.

The lady who originally hails from Plamondon always tends to leave her Christmas decorations up until the end of January to honour the celebration of Ukrainian Christmas as well.

"I always leave it till after January because of the Ukrainian Christmas. We always did that, they celebrate ours so it's right to celebrate theirs too," stated Plamondon.

Warm Wishes

Plamondon sends her greetings message full of warm wishes to the community.

"I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, may all enjoy this holiday season... good health, happiness and prosperity comes along," said Plamondon.
