Two events are planned and Lac La Biche County officials are invited any residents who were affected by the evacuation. Anyone who volunteered at a help centre, looked after someone else’s kids who was volunteering, directed a Fort McMurray resident to the nearest restaurant or gas station — even if you just smiled at someone new … you’re invited.
County staff plan on feeding upwards of 900 people at the Lac La Biche event on Sept. 23 and more than 500 at the Plamondon evening coming up this Friday.
Both events start at 5 pm. And both events have a number of special prizes available as County staff has purchased items from area businesses as Thank You gifts.
