The Lac La Biche POST will be clarifying several points in a front page story from last week on the information session held recently by Portage College officials.  Requests for clarification in several areas of the story have been requested by Portage College brass.
A follow up story will be printed in an upcoming edition of the POST.

    Clarification on losses

Post staff would like to initially clarify that comments made by College president Trent Keough about staffing cuts due to reduced provincial funding and other factors over recent years did not reduce overall Portage staffing by 50 per cent as was reported.  During the information session, it was said that half of the total number of 44 staff who have been let go over recent years came from the Lac La Biche campus. The POST apologizes for the error.

POST staff will be meeting with College staff in the coming days to again go over the information from the meeting, focusing on the tone of the original article and a desire by College staff to present the institution in a more positive light.  POST staff apologize for any errors or inferences created in the original article and will strive to present a more comprehensive overview in the days ahead.
